ENZER

Project Type: Bio-Design
Industry: Product Design
Timeline: 5 Months

Enzer was a group project aimed at eliminating the micro-plastics found in our waterways. The concept was developed during my time at RMIT University and we were chosen to represent the Uni at the International Bio-Design Challenge in New York. After presenting on the global stage, we were declared a finalist in the competition and were awarded the Orta Award for sustainability in design.

The main goal was to make an impact on the fast fashion trade that is polluting our world.
We studied the particles being flushed out of the washing machine after each load. We tested 4 separate depending on the materials in the fabrics.

The conclusion was that synthetic clothes were visibly more polluting to the water when compared to more organic fabrics.

The next challenge was designing a product that could trap the micro-particles being released from the polyester fibers.
